Understanding Salmonella.

Those who prepare food for more vulnerable people, children, the elderly or those with impaired resistance, ie hospital patients or the long term unwell, need to be doubly sure that the food prepared is safe.

Those of us responsible for preparing meals in restaurants, cafes and any fast food outlets are pressurised to produce tasty food quickly. Apart from the need to make food attractive, staff need to be aware of the unseen dangers that lurk in undercooked food, that is the food poisoning bacteria that can cause very unpleasant illness or even death.

This little booklet is written to form part of your "due diligence". It contains three parts:-

a)
Essential knowledge about the salmonella bacteria, how it spreads and how to prevent it causing food poisoning.

b) A 20 question multi choice test to establish understanding and knowledge. When completed by you or your staff, return it to elearner shop, c/o QFT (UK) Ltd, Phoenix House, Grovehill Road, Beverley, East Yorkshire, HU17 0JG for marking. If you have 15 out of 20 questions correct, an ASET certificate will be posted to you within a few days.

c) An optional section of observed best practice intended to be completed by your own supervisor.


ASET is a UK awarding body. This 3 part pack, once complete will form excellent audit documents as part of your companys due diligence systems.

Material cost = £18 including the ASET certificate.
